“Iodine is one of the most common nutrient deficiencies and is estimated to affect 35–45 percent of the world’s population,” per a 2022 study published in nutrients, although Dr. Brownstein says that this number is much higher as most are not tested.
It’s also an essential for the function of every cell in our bodies and plays a very important role in thyroid health.
Our Thyroid produces the hormones we need and plays a role in heart, muscle and bone, digestive function, and Bain development.
Low iodine levels are also a link between greater toxicity effects from the chemical fluoride thats added to our public water supply here in the US.
Today we’ll be discussing causes and symptoms of iodine deficiencies, how it effects our thyroid, fluoride toxicity, and cholesterol, and what the best testing, foods, and supplements are to improve our levels and our health.
